Perioperative Services Nurse Director opportunity in Washington to lead a high trust surgical team in a fast paced perioperative setting 🌟.
This community medical center serves a rural Area with a critical access designation. The Perioperative Services Nurse Director will join a board governed organization that is accredited by a respected national body. The Perioperative Services Nurse Director reports to the Chief Nursing Officer. The role has direct oversight of the Manager of Surgery and the Manager of Prep and Recovery and the Central Sterile team and perioperative RNs and surgical technologists and an RN First Assist and a Service Coordinator. This OR Nurse Director collaborates closely with surgeons and anesthesia and materials management and infection prevention to achieve results.
The Perioperative Services Nurse Director leads a service with 3 ORs and 1 procedure room plus Central Sterile. The unit includes a 5 bed PACU and an 8 bed Prep and Recovery area with a supportive and professional energy. Volume averages 2 surgeries per day and 37 per month and 445 per year and GI procedures average about 166 per month and the Operating Room Director oversees 26 FTEs.
The Perioperative Services Nurse Director provides visible day to day oversight in the OR and Central Sterile to drive safe workflows and excellent outcomes. The Director of Surgical Services mentors nurses and techs and advances education and competencies and leads quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. This leader develops budgets and staffing plans and policies and also manages scheduling and productivity and physician relations. MUST HAVE COMPACT LICENSE OR WA LICENSE BEFORE SUBMITTING and prior perioperative leadership experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred for the Perioperative Services Nurse Director.
