Summary

ABC & LOL, LLC is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant One Year Old Teacher to work with our team providing high-quality care and early education for one-year olds. The Assistant Teacher will work alongside the Lead Teacher to create a positive, nurturing, and engaging environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development for young children.

Duties

• Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that support the physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of one-year olds.
• Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Supervise and engage one-year olds during playtime, meals, and activities.
• Foster positive and respectful interactions with one-year olds to support their social skills and emotional development.
• Follow all center policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding children's needs and progress.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with diapering, potty training, and other personal care needs as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); fundamentals or a 3-credit college course or being willing to complete within 1 year of hire.
• Experience working with young children in a childcare or early education setting is preferred but will train the right person.
• Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices for one-year olds.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain a safe and nurturing environment.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Complete VT Orientation upon hire.
• Civil Rights training upon hire.
• Background check and fingerprint clearance (required).
