CTG is seeking to fill a Middleware Consultant - MQ Architect (InfoSphere Integration) opening for our client. Location: Remote Duration: 2 months **About the Role:** We are seeking a highly skilled **Middleware Consultant** with deep expertise in **architecting and optimizing MQ environments** to support high-throughput data integration workflows, particularly involving **InfoSphere** . In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize a scalable messaging infrastructure capable of handling large volumes of structured and unstructured data in real-time or near-real-time. **Key Responsibilities:** + Architect and implement a robust, scalable MQ-based messaging infrastructure tailored for large-scale data transfers from InfoSphere tools (e.g., DataStage, Information Server). + Design and document middleware integration patterns, message flows, and queue structures for high availability and fault tolerance. + Collaborate with data engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure end-to-end data flow reliability and performance. + Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot MQ environments to ensure minimal latency and optimal throughput. + Define security configurations, including SSL, authentication, and authorization for MQ. + Create documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams for operational support. **Required Skills and Qualifications:** + Proven experience integrating **InfoSphere** (especially DataStage) with MQ-based architectures. + Strong understanding of message queuing concepts, publish-subscribe models, and asynchronous messaging patterns. + Experience handling high-volume and high-frequency data pipelines. + Familiarity with data governance, transformation, and metadata management concepts in InfoSphere. + Strong scripting skills for automation (e.g., Shell, Python, or PowerShell). + Excellent communication and documentation skills. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with containerized MQ deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). + Familiarity with other middleware tools (Kafka, TIBCO, ActiveMQ) is a plus. + IMS Change Data Capture experience Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
