Your Key Contributions Will Include:

  • Mastering International Tax Compliance: Taking ownership of the preparation and filing of U.S. international income tax returns for foreign entities, including crucial forms like 5471s, 8858s, and 1118. You'll also expertly handle complex international tax calculations such as GILTI, BEAT, Sub F, Pillar 2, and foreign tax credits.
  • Leveraging Tax Technology: Utilizing cutting-edge tax software (Onesource is a plus!) and other technology to streamline our tax processes, ensuring accuracy and boosting efficiency. You'll also stay ahead of the curve, recommending innovative improvements to our existing systems.
  • Driving Collaboration and Communication: Working hand-in-hand with our talented tax and finance teams, as well as external advisors, to create a unified approach to all tax matters. Your clear and concise communication will keep stakeholders, including senior management, informed of key tax updates and potential risks.
  • Contributing to Strategic Tax Planning: Developing and implementing insightful tax planning strategies aimed at minimizing our federal and international tax obligations while maximizing available benefits. Your proactive approach to staying updated on evolving tax laws and regulations will be invaluable in advising management on the tax implications of business decisions.
  • Ensuring Meticulous Compliance and Documentation: Maintaining comprehensive and well-organized documentation for all tax activities, including returns, supporting schedules, work papers, and communications with tax authorities. Your commitment to accurate record-keeping will ensure seamless audits and inquiries.
  • Supporting Tax Audits: Providing crucial assistance during federal and international tax audits and examinations, offering necessary documentation and clear explanations to tax authorities. You'll collaborate effectively with external auditors and legal advisors to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Conducting In-Depth Research and Analysis: Diving deep into complex tax issues, interpreting intricate tax laws and regulations, and providing clear technical guidance to management and other stakeholders. Your proactive approach to staying informed on industry trends will keep us compliant and competitive.
  • Upholding SOX Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and requirements, maintaining robust internal control procedures related to all tax processes.
  • Investing in Growth and Development: Actively participating in ongoing professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your expertise in federal corporate taxation. You'll also have the chance to mentor and train junior tax team members, fostering a strong and knowledgeable team.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Credentials: CPA, CTA, or EA certification is a significant advantage.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of focused experience in U.S. international taxation, ideally within a public accounting firm or a corporate tax department. Proven experience in tax planning, compliance, and audit support is essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in tax and ERP software (Onesource preferred, Oracle a plus) and strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail are crucial.
  • Deep Tax Knowledge: A strong understanding of U.S. international tax compliance and calculations. Familiarity with transfer pricing and tax provision experience is highly desirable.
  • Communication Excellence: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present complex tax concepts. Strong interpersonal skills are vital for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Acumen: Proven ability to analyze and solve complex problems, think critically and creatively to identify tax-saving opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
  • Exceptional Organization: Superb organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize work efficiently.
