Will be relocating to York, SC this summer 2025

The Freight Coordinator’s primary role is to manage the logistical processing of outbound shipments of customers’ new equipment in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate transportation of balers and compactors for shipping using Komar Industries’ preferred carriers and utilize process for freight load organization.
• Prepare shipping documentation, such as bills of lading and packing lists. 
• Create spreadsheets and update proprietary software with notes, ETA, and memos.
• Determine efficient and effective ways of moving goods from one location to another, including shipping methods, routes, possible consolidation, and rates for goods to be shipped.
• Work with the production/operations department on setting up shipments. 
• Daily shipping totals.
• Weekly inventory report.
• Work with internal and external customers providing shipping updates.
• Work within the Sales Department, 3rd party installers & freight logistics companies to provide world class on time delivery and provide outstanding customer service support.

Requirements:

• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• 2 years of shipping or logistics experience.
• Advanced customer service skills.
• Previous manufacturing/shipping experience with large commercial equipment utilizing flatbeds.
• Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize work.
• Advanced time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to understand the manufacturing life cycle such as production timelines.
• Experience with NetSuite or related ERP systems. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or relative experience and/or training for job classification.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
