Chief Financial Officer (CFO) (Payments Industry)

Base Salary: $180,000 + Incentives + Benefits 

Compensation: 1st Year Compensation: $220,000 OTE

The core of their activities will be optimizing schedule As, negotiating contracts, leading financing for future projects, financial forecasting and diving into data to make the decisions for the future

What You’ll Do:

• Bookkeeping & Reporting: Oversee company bookkeeping, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
• Residual Management: Handle extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data, calculate and payout residuals, and conduct residual audits with ISOs/banks.
• Financial Planning & Forecasting: Lead company financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. Prepare taxes with a CPA.
• Compensation & Asset Management: Create and manage compensation plans, handle company asset management, insurance policies, and legal entity structures.
• Personal Finances & Property Management: Manage owner’s personal cash flow, property, and insurance policies.
• Strategic & Financial Operations: Review agreements, manage fundraising, financing, and lending; oversee real estate management, and handle miscellaneous check writing.
• ISO & Bank Relations: Manage annual contract reviews, quarterly account scrubs, and QA ISO pricing.
• Benefits & Payroll Management: Oversee 401(k) reporting, medical benefits, payroll operations, PTO management, holiday scheduling, and payroll reporting.

REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE: 5+ years of prior experience in the Payments or Merchant Services Industry.

Who You Are:

• Educational Background: BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields; Master’s/MBA or CPA preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years in a senior accounting role.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Xero for statements, cash management, AP/AR, and payroll; advanced Excel skills with extensive experience in data organization, analysis, and presentation.
• Expertise: Financial modeling, cash flow valuation, scenario analysis, reconciliations, bookkeeping, debt and equity structures, and compensation plan development.
• Leadership & Work Ethic: Proven leadership with a "do what it takes" attitude, willingness to tackle challenges, and commitment to improving processes.
• Problem-Solving & Organization: Exceptional analytical skills, highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Additional Qualities: Quick learner, self-starter, able to handle increasing responsibilities, and deep understanding of accounting and finance fundamentals.

Location:

We have a strong local culture in our office in Austin, Texas. While we prefer an onsite team, we are pragmatic in our approach to growth. Thirty percent of our team is remote and comes to all hands onsite sprints 3-4 times a year.
