Job Description

Boys & Girls Clubs of Hutchinson is looking for a vision leader to join our team. Our ideal candidate has a passion for working with youth, is self-driven, ambitious, and reliable.

This position is for our K-5 site at Avenue A School at 111 S. Madison, Hutchinson, KS.

Title: Vision Leader

Reports to: Site Director

Primary Function: Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area.

  1. Cooperates with and respects supervisors.

  3. Is courteous to other Vision Leaders and Club Members.
  4. Ability to work as a team.
  5. Professionally works with volunteers and members of the community.

Prepare Youth for Success

  1. Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:
  2. Promote and stimulate program participation
  3. Participate in new member orientation process making them feel welcome and comfortable at the club
  4. Provide guidance and role modeling to members

Program Implementation

  1. Plan activities that Create a safe, positive environment, Generate fun and foster a sense of belonging, Encourage supportive relationships with peers and adults, Provide opportunities and set expectations and offer recognition.
  2. Implements Boys & Girls Clubs programs geared toward their specific area Healthy Habits, Learning Center, Computer lab, Gym, Games Room, Arts, Teen Center, Power Hour etc.
  3. Post and follow a weekly lesson plan.
  4. Develops culturally appropriate programs and activities
  5. Follows club disciplinary policies and procedures
  6. Provides various experiences and interactive activities
  7. Promotes activities that build youth’s esteem
  8. Clearly implements the BGCA mission and vision in daily practice

Supervision

  1. Be on time and ready to make a difference in a child’s life.
  2. Actively supervises while continually interacting with all members providing motivation and encouragement.
  3. Disciplines members fairly, consistently, and according to established policies and procedures.
  4. Ensure a productive work environment by participating in assigned staff meetings.

Communication

  1. Discusses discipline problems with supervisor.
  2. Discusses strategies with supervisor to deal with discipline problems.
  3. Clearly and effectively communicates to youth.
  4. Effectively communicates issues to supervisor, employees or other staff.
  5. Maintains Professional Conduct which includes but not limited to maintaining confidentiality, no gossiping, etc.
